Around a Loch

These days the grand plans that I may have to do with my wee man don't always turn out the way they are planned. This Friday we headed to Stirling for an afternoon play date. With the sun shining rather gloriously I decided to take his bike and have a morning ride around Airthrey Loch at Stirling University. On arrival he very excitedly got on the bike and had a good go. The thing is as soon as he saw a bench I was ordered to "sit down". Who was I to complain? A relaxing seat in the sunshine, I even took a layer off! So our bike turned more into enjoying the simple things.

Finding stones

and sticking them in a gap.

Standing on a stump because you can.

Finding a tree that's actually the same size as you!

Finding sticks

and well just getting down right dirty!

Not so much exercise but lots of fresh air. Oh and we made it about half way around the Loch!

  1. Sometimes it is good to go at their pace and allow them to touch, feel and watch along the way. Children learn by doing and your wee man looks to be doing just that on his lock adventure. Thank you for sharing on Country Kids.

    1. These days the snow suit does more than keep out the cold it protects him from all the mud he is rolling about it. He has not bother to just sit himself anywhere and get stuck in! It is tempting sometimes to get frustrated but these days I am learning to enjoy just slowing down.

    1. Oh yes it was lots of fun! The all in one suit has been a great buy! Not only does it keep him cosy it safes him from the mud and also softens any falls!
