Blacka Moor, Sheffield

We found ourselves with a sunny Sunday and a desire to enjoy it by going for a walk. Being new to the area makes impromptu difficult but a quick online search led us to Blacka Moor. I've also discovered the Sheffield Wildlife Trust website with a few more options to enjoy in the future. There are options for parking along the Heathersage road and if you are like us, easily lost, if you reach Longshaw you have gone too far. Which was heaving by the way so we were happy for a different option. Our walk took us through woodland and moorland but there are many options of different ways to go. With the wee man we were limited with length and time. We found that there are still plenty of blackberries to pick and this kept the wee man going. The views are stunning though and it's very popular with mountain bikers. Another beautiful find on our doorstep as I find myself slowly falling in love with South Yorkshire.

  4. I love Yorkshire, such a beautiful part of the world. We used to visit South Yorkshire and the Peak District a lot when I was younger and I do miss it. It's exciting to think of all the new discoveries you will be making about your (new) local area now too x
