The Friday Song Choice

Now the feet leave the floor.

It's very important to my wee man that he is able to "boing" like a bunny rabbit. You don't need an excuse to start jumping you just do it because it's good fun. For a while he has understood the concept of jumping, bending and stretching at the knees and you usually got a kind of shuffle forward. Then one day he does it properly. Now the feet leave the floor! So maybe not every mothers marker of their child's amazing development but it does it for me!

The little explorer

  

As the wee man's imagination grows so does his approach to play. He is a bag of curiosity and all his senses are alight. Every trip outside is a new journey of discovery and exploration. It's so easy to turn a walk into a real adventure. Flowers to be picked (ahem and some not meant to be picked), stones to be upturned, sticks used to poke and prod, catching leaves in the wind, boulders to climb and jump. You never know there might be a bear just around the corner!

Water Play

 

 It is hard to resist the pleasure of playing with water. Practising to be a future engineer as he figured out which bits make the water go where. We relished in feelings of spring. Finally it was warm enough to remove our jackets. He rolled up his jeans and removed his shoes and socks. He laughed as he felt the water between his toes and splashed it with his hands.
