A matter of choice

My wee man is not generally fussy and he has never made a concerted effort to choose between things. He knows what he wants mind you and will demand to get it but it has never been either/or it's always just been this. Heading out the other day I put on his brown shoes. Wee man promptly said off and then said Wellies. I was taken aback as here was my wee man making a proper choice of which shoes he wants to wear. Needless to say once at the park I appreciated his choice as he managed to find the puddles!

Hubby jests when he says that my wee man often looks like a farmer's son. At heart I think he really is a country kid!

  1. My little man loves to splash in puddles in his wellies too and actually I quite like joining him as well! Your wee man looks very happy in your pics.

    1. Puddles of water is where he is happiest! I bought myself some great water proof boots so I did not have to worry about the muddy puddles either!

  2. I know exactly what you mean. Aaron often decides which jacket and which shoes he wants to wear. Until @anyaharris01 gave us a pair of new trainers the choice was easy, shoes (boots really) or wellies. I love it when he makes choices. Daddy's culture is more "he'll do as we tell him" but I encourage and empower him to make decisions and choices, often giving him a choice at lunch and dinner time.

    Lovely post.

    1. I am hoping to encourage the best choices for him! My philosophy is to choose my battles when he is not ready to do as I tell him!

Thanks so much for following x

  3. Lovely that he is making those decisions and knowing what he wants. I am all for his wellies on a trip to the park. As for the farmer look how perfect for a youngster who enjoys the outdoors! Certainly looking all wrapped up after the warmth of Jamaica last week.

    1. He is growing up so fast on me! Definitely wrapping up warm again! It's funny as when we wore shoes to the airport to come home he was not too enthused about it all!

  4. Love it - wellies are so practical for children. I try to encourage the children in my class to wear them outside as it means they can go anywhere they want without worrying about getting their shoes ruined. Kierna

    1. You know I was wondering if it was the influence of his nursery. We did get a note in his news letter from Nursery to encourage them to wear wellies. Seeing as he jumps in any puddle he sees wherever we are and whatever we are doing they are VERY practical!
