A sticky situation

It was a lovely Saturday morning to spend in the park. Sometimes though the wee man struggles with the crowds that the sunshine brings. He feels he should be able to dictate who uses which equipment which meant lots of shouting of no and tears. Even with other parents being sympathetic I struggle to be patient. I try to explain about taking turns and sharing but reasoning with a two year old is never easy. Somehow distracting him to see the ducks clears the air. Tears and frustration though are quickly renewed with the lack of bread which was in my bag yesterday so why not today? The snack meant for the wee man is suddenly appropriate food for the squirrels. He chases the squirrels and thankfully we find peace with sticks and leaves.

  1. Great photos - and Little A was just the same when when she was two - she thought the whole playground was her's too! It's amazing the power of the stick when it comes to distraction!

    1. His concentration while playing with them was pretty impressive. I hope he grows out of it before the Summer when the parks will be heaving!

    1. He loves playing with sticks and thankfully it distracted him and he was so focused on what he was doing as well.
