Taking monster for a walk

My wee man has never had a favourite toy or comforter since a baby. I'm afraid that is probably the role of his dummy at the minute. Yet slowly over time I have watched his toys become his friends. Stuffed toys started to take on new life and were not just decorative pieces any more. Slowly the collection of soft toys in the bed grew and I'm not sure if he would be happy to settle without one...I've not dared to try! It's watching how his imagination grows that is fascinating. He has conversations with them, gets them to do fun things with him and are great for just a cuddle. The soft toy-wee man relationship has now also been found to be very beneficial for travelling long distances  for example when stuck on an aeroplane for two and a half hours. Recently it's hard to go out the house without someone in his hand. Actually sometimes his hands are full beyond capacity and mummy is charged with holding one. I've learnt as well that I can't hide them in my pockets but have to carry them in my hands because after all there is certain way we treat our friends.

  2. I think it's so lovely when they settle on a special toy. My little man never really had a favourite although he loves his taggy at bedtime, but lately he really loves a particular toy and often asks for it in the day. x

    1. My wee man goes through phases of who is special that day. He definitely likes someone with him through the night!

  3. Lovely pictures and monster looks like a true friend. Some of mine took cuddly toys everywhere and could hardly get into bed for them and others didn't bother at all. I was quite relaxed with both as it suited them.

    1. He was funnily scared of monster when he got him initially until for some reason when we were playing I mentioned he was a very friendly monster!

  4. Oh this is so sweet. I think you will treasure these photos when he's older because I think them with their toys really capture the innocence of childhood. Mads doesn't really have a favourite toy, she has a new one each week. I would like her to be attached to a favourite really! X

    1. Yes especially when they "teach" them to do things or they are friendly reassurance!
