When the Heron came to lunch

After busy weeks of exploring we have kept our recent adventures closer to home. As always though our local park threw new experiences at us to enjoy. A new favourite is to feed the ducks and the pigeons (so we can then chase them obviously! Poor pigeons). What a nice surprise when the local heron came to join us as well or as the wee man says "The big one mummy". Once we had made our way through the bread stash we were quickly distracted by the sticks, dirt and feathers...Oh!..and a caterpillar. Never have my wee man's hand seemed so big till he had this little creature in his hands. He was ever so gentle and made mummy feel a little proud.

  3. It's so important for children's development that they experience the world around them. The fact that the wee man was not only was interested in the caterpillar, but that he was so gentle with it shows an understanding and respect for small creatures. How remarkable that the Heron came that close and ate the bread! Thanks for sharing your park adventures with Country Kids.
