It's not often I capture a good photo with my phone. Over the past few days though when we have been out and about it is all I have had on me to take pictures. With a little editing I actually managed to capture a moment. This is my photo of the week.

As a mother
With all the love I have I will probably always question how good I am as a mother. It's a label which carries a lot of weight with it and sometimes my shoulders slouch under the pressure. All the hard work though that motherhood involves is always trumped by the good stuff. When my wee man wakes up in the morning and shouts "Daddy" "Mummy" no matter how early, no matter how much I groan it really is the best start to the day.
As a mother I get to hold him tight and listen to his giggles as I tickle him. His smile alone brightens up my day.
As a mother I get special hugs every day and grab kisses whenever I can.
As a mother I get to reawaken my imagination.

My little adventurer
There are two sides to my wee man. Recently he has become quite shy or as I now like to put he takes his time to warm up to things. I actually found myself reading about it and looking at professional opinions and ideas. So being not the most assertive of characters I find the way that he approaches certain activities with excitement and vigour quite surprising. There is something about the outdoors that gets my wee man going. The climbing, the swinging, the sliding, the "weeeeee". He's fallen and just gets himself right back up again. It's like he has got a real sense of adventure. Before I know it Daddy will probably be taking him up a mountain.

Around a Loch
These days the grand plans that I may have to do with my wee man don't always turn out the way they are planned. This Friday we headed to Stirling for an afternoon play date. With the sun shining rather gloriously I decided to take his bike and have a morning ride around Airthrey Loch at Stirling University. On arrival he very excitedly got on the bike and had a good go. The thing is as soon as he saw a bench I was ordered to "sit down". Who was I to complain? A relaxing seat in the sunshine, I even took a layer off! So our bike turned more into enjoying the simple things.
Finding stones
and sticking them in a gap.
Standing on a stump because you can.
Finding a tree that's actually the same size as you!
Finding sticks
and well just getting down right dirty!
Not so much exercise but lots of fresh air. Oh and we made it about half way around the Loch!
