Our day out #CountryKids

I think sensible parents stay home when they are potty training. Trust me I know I was not brave but stupid. Yet with this sunny weather who wants to stay home and for some reason I thought this was a good week to start potty training! Actually I realise I just don't have it in me to be stuck at home no matter what we are getting up to. So we set off then for a day out in Stirling. I figure that I will always have access to some bush we can hide behind with the potty so we will be safe. We did have a wee and the dreaded poo accident but overall I must say I survived the day. It started with a walk around the loch at the university. We collected stones to throw into the loch and then to my astonishment he actually started to build something with sticks. I'm afraid I am still waiting to tick den building off the list and only heard whispers of a tunnel or bridge as the sticks were being collected.

After the picnic and ice cream I found a nice shady spot while the wee man slept. Then we headed to Kings Park that afternoon where it was all about playing in the sand, doing a bit of trampoline jumping and scaring mummy by climbing to significant heights and go down rather long slides.

All in all it was a successful day for my country kid and I will save the whole potty training debacle for another post. That is if I am every brave enough to share the subject of poo.

  1. What an exciting day and good for you for not staying home. I always went out with mine in potty training after the first day, life has to go on. Just be prepared for a few months of saying "do you need a wee" especially when they are busy playing. A lovely Country Kids post.

  5. Gorgeous photos! And Mushroom and I couldn't stay in for more than one day of potty training! So we've been out and about loads too (with a trusty travel potty!). Life goes on, right? And staying inside in this weather drove me potty (I know, terrible joke!)... I will be sharing a potty training diary sometime in the next week or so (we are on day 4 now) so I will look out for yours too. Mine will mention poo :-)

  9. Oh Sabrina, Kings Park takes me back many many years, it didn't have quite the same equipment in it then, but it was still fab. Lovely pictures again and enjoying this weather is just the ticket x
