Another fabulous find close to home. Again we took advantage of another sunny Sunday afternoon to stretch our legs at Wyming Brook Nature Reserve. There is a public car park just off Redmire road and the paths to follow are well signposted and pretty straightforward. The wee man got on his bike as we took the main bridleway down to the Rivelin Dams (there is a fork in the path and you keep to the right). It did mean we got to the bottom pretty quick with a few stops to step off the beaten track. The highlight though is walking back along Wyming Brook. (if you prefer you can simply do this path first). We never realised how close to the water we would get. To say the wee man loved it would be an understatement as he was in his element. He was so distracted I'm not sure he realised how much he walked. He loved the speed of the current and there were many stops to watch the leaves race down. There was even a point where he braved getting close enough to get a little wet. After recent rains wellies came in very handy and it was never too tricky for the wee man to manage. A really beautiful walk for all ages.
