Walking in the rain

It was an impromptu trip to Stirling for a play date with friends in the afternoon. That meant I had a whole morning where the wee man needed to be occupied. I'm not quite sure what to do in Stirling when  it rains and I'll admit on the drive from Glasgow, as it was bucketing it down, I was looking to see what we could do indoors. Thankfully on arrival at Stirling University the weather relented a bit. So with a slight drizzle we ventured forward as the Loch was certainly more appealing than soft play.

The wee man discovered his bag of toys for later so we also took Upsy Daisy, Igglepiggle, a tombliboo, some haahoos, 2 cars, a helicopter, a fire engine and an ambulance as well. We all chatted with the ducks and swans. We found smalls sticks and a very big one too. We found as many stones as we could to throw into the Loch.

Then we were ready for some lunch as long as it was chips with ketchup or should that be ketchup with chips?

  4. SO SO SO lovely that you never let the weather keep you indoors and what he is wearing looks superb. He's always wrapped up and cute looking your son. Can't wait to see him in Summer clothes, but I will miss these cute days too.

Never knew you were in Scotland :-)

Him throwing stones in the water sounds just like Aaron but we made that connection before :-)

Play dates are great aren't they. We had one Thursday :-) The blog post you commented on.

Your photography is always so superb. I nominated you in the BIBS photo category for that reason :-)

  5. Just read the other comments and saw Mother Goutte's. I was also planning on commenting on the ketchup as Aaron LOVES it (too much).

  6. The Wee Man was certainly dressed for the rain and obviously enjoyed his time chatting to the wildlife and exploring the grounds. My children would say ketchup with chips! Thanks for linking up to Country Kids.

    1. Lol that's fine it's a firm favourite here! The swans and ducks were very friendly but if they got too close the wee man would run away! We can't pass a stick without him picking it up and he just loves the big ones!

Feeding the ducks is one of my favourite things to do - I really should do it more!

    1. It comes in very handy for all the puddle jumping! We actually did not feed the ducks but they still came over to say hello! Do you know technically you should not feed the ducks bread?

  14. His puddlesuit is gorgeous. Brilliant pictures too, we love feeding the ducks. I haven't been to Stirling for years, there used to be a fantastic safari perk and adventure playground, I don't know if it still exists!

  20. Stunning pictures - what a beautiful boy you have! You've inspired me to stop being such a wuss about the rain. In the afternoons it's tricky to get out at the moment because F is so exhausted after nursery and I'm so exhausted after being up for work at 4am. I'm looking forward to that changing over the summer though and will make an effort to get out even if it is pouring down!
