We took the balance bike out for a spin. First time for the New Year. Just to our usual local park mind you but the first time where he spent the whole morning on the bike happy to "whizz" about the whole park. That meant going up some relatively steep hills and rather slowly making our way back down them again. With some things my wee man is not exactly the dare devil! At least though we both got some pretty good exercise and lots of fresh air.
I think you can safely say that The Wee Man has got the hang of his balancing bike - he's pretty speedy. What great exercise too, thanks for linking up and sharing his fun with Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteI can't praise balance bikes enough and think they were one of the smartest inventions when it comes to learning to ride a bike. The Wee Man looks very proficient and I wonder if our 2 boys might like to try taking their pedal bikes to the skate park!

He's a whizz on his bike! Brilliant :) Balance bikes are great, the 4yo loved his and now rides a proper bike really well. The wee girl is getting one for her birthday in March :)

ReplyDeleteWe only discovered about balance bikes just after the boys learnt to ride bikes although one had used them at school and loved them. We are however proud of the fact that 3 children who have visited our gite for a holiday have gone home having learnt to ride a bike without stabilisers. Looks like our boules pitch is also a cycle training area!

ReplyDeleteHe is so good! We bought Bob a Peppa Pig bike for Christmas that's a balance bike that then converts into a bike with pedals and stabilisers. Supposed to be from age 2 and Bob can't touch the floor. x
